Netflix's Reed Hastings has harsh words for Comcast
Netflix's CEO, Reed Hastings blasts Comcast for violating net-neutrality rules by excluding one of its new products from monthly data caps.
The accusation came from Mr Hastings' Facebook page
Comcast no longer following net neutrality principles.
Comcast should apply caps equally, or not at all.
I spent the weekend enjoying four good internet video apps on my Xbox: Netflix, HBO GO, Xfinity, and Hulu.
When I watch video on my Xbox from three of these four apps, it counts against my Comcast internet cap. When I watch through Comcast’s Xfinity app, however, it does not count against my Comcast internet cap.
Mr Hastings' argument is that Comcast is unfairly promoting its Xfinity TV app for the XBox 360 to watch On Demand movies and TV shows as an alternative to the Comcast set-top cable box. How? Comcast has made it clear
that it wouldn't count bandwidth used for streaming content through the XBox app from the 250-gigabyte cap that consumers are held to every month.
